It seems deeply implausible to me that you would have a situation in which huge swathes of the population simply do not want to be involved in major decisions. I mean you can see it very clearly in relation to discussions of women. You know there's been a sense that women prefer to leave these decisions to the men, they know that they can trust the men to look after them.
