Kruchav drafted a response and had it read on moscow radio, so that president kennedy and the rest of the world would learn about it as quickly as possible. The message was broadcast at nine a m eastern time in the us. It contained some posturing and scolding of the united states, no doubt to make it easier for the russian public to accept. But the core of the message was that krushev had accepted the deal.
