Tom's Story

Tom liked sweets, and he seemed constitutionally unable to walk past the candy rack down at the generals door without a few pieces finding their way into his pockets. As tom grew bolder and his pockets heavier, eventually the store clerk began to take notice. Later on, there was the unauthorized joy ride on the neighbor's tractor, which ended up stuck in a creek three fields over. Doris was sure she saw a shotgun wedding in her grandson's future, and she prayed for him nightly. For the most part, it seemed to work.
