Is Your Life a Mess?
The temptation is to think of autobiography even if it's not something you're writing down. Augustine very much doesn't look at that way he sees that I'm a mess that was born into a mess and all I've done is make things messier in a certain sense. He actually has the courage to say that without falling into despair because he sees the mercy of God, says St. Paul. Sometimes we can become very pleased with ourselves by telling about our sins as it makes us sound like more interesting according to commenters on confessions.
