Willpower Doesn't Factor Into Addiction

Shame can go two different ways. I think there's the internal shame that you might feel from knowing that you should not be doing something, feeling like you don't need to do something but doing it anyway. And then also maybe the shame that you are assuming that you're feeling from other people in culture for doing a behavior that they might be judging you for. We have this app called Eat Right Now where we had people pay attention as they over ate and this program set up to help people map out these habit loops around eating and work with them. It's not based on willpower. As we pay attention, we start to realize that it doesn't feel good when we overeat.
