Gatherites were a group of nationalist Sikhs. Punjabi is more generally, but specifically Sikhs who were sort of pushing for Indian freedom. British intelligence yet again was fully aware that this was a dangerous thing from their perspective. They got hold of a secret agent called Hopkinson and Hopkinson began to infiltrate these Gurdwara's in British Columbia. He was given a huge amount of resources to essentially find out loyalist Sikhs. And so you see that begin to happen in the UK, but more importantly in Canada.
