Frog remained, huddled beneath the pine tree. The massive icicles had been reduced to delicate spindles and frog unfrows. For the first time in his life, he did not want spring. Spring meant Frog no longer had any excuses. And that, he could not accept. As life flourished all around him, Frog remained, content to extend his own winter. Until one day a familiar face emerged from the tall pond grass which swayed in the warm breeze. Salamander was recording notes on his dictaphone. He said: "I heard about your new book. I can't wait to read it"
