Is Block Chain a Good Use Case for Cryptocurrency?

Block chain is essentially a distributed data base that's got hash checking built in. But i've still yet to see a really compelling use case that's gone into like, wide scale production for it. And we always talk about supply chains and thingses like that. A really good use case for block chain but i don't really see anyone using it at a large scale.
