Social media is a phenomenal vehicle for establishing shared communication networks across groups that hadn't been talking before. The language that each group uses to describe their own concerns winds up starting to correspond and ultimately coordinate across different groups. It can kind of, you know, it trivial or in some way, like, technical, to study the evolution of language. But at it's deeply meaningful, because it's really how people talk about their lives.
