The Importance of Being Unmarried

In 17th century a woman was considered an old maid if she remained unmarried and childless by the time she reached her mid-20s. Today the word Spinster is more commonplace and is used to refer to women between the ages of 23 and 26. In this culture it's certainly normal in your early 20s to not want kids but that doesn't mean you won't want them later.
