In preparation for this happy occasion, william despatched an advanced force of knights to enter and occupy london. And predictively, they found many rebels determined to offer every possible resistance. So finally, william relented. He would accept the crown. Matilda could be crowned later, and if he had to sleep on the couch, so be it.
