The History of Contraception Access in the United States
Kiara Bridges is a professor of law at UC Berkeley School of Law. Griswold v. Connecticut arose after a physician prescribed a contraceptive to a married couple. In 1972, in a case called Eisenstadt v. Baird, the court expanded as holding such that the right to access contraceptives was available to people who were unmarried too.
