The Ghost of a Quarantine Station
A lot of my research is built on the archives of the Philadelphia Board of Health, which ran the Lazaretto quarantine station during its years of operation. There are little tidbits hidden in archival collections here and there. And quarantine was just built into the fabric of commerce and everyday life. So stories related to quarantine stories coming from quarantine kind of revealed themselves in all over the place.
