Jasmine Brown is a third year medical student at UPenn. She's turned her research into a book called Twice as Hard, the stories of black women who fought to become physicians from the Civil War to the 21st Century. While a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, she began researching all the ways that black women have been denied entry into the profession. Here's our conversation about the pathbreakers and the obstacles they faced.
