The Role of Dopamine in Learning
Ventrus Driesham is involved in drug addiction, and also learning. It encodes for this thing called reward prediction error. In the 90s, researcher Kort Wilf from Schultz found that they were trying to train a monkey to eat a grape by reaching out into a box. As training progresses, dopamine starts firing to like the sound of the box opening. This is kind of like Pavlov's dog, which would salivate when he rang his bell.
