epigenetics is the study of how genes can be passed down from one generation to another. The idea that traits picked up during your lifetime you can pass on are called 'acquired characteristics' In a sense, it's marcian writes o la mark's theory of acquired characteristics. How often has that actually contributed to evolution? And also, is this not something that, at the end of the day, is found in the genetic code?
