We in the united states are the only industrialized country to date that have the highest rates of death, not just in pregnancy, but also up to one year post partem. And we know that particularly black women are three to four times more to die during their pregnancy. Thereis a failure within our system because of long standing racism and structural racism that's at the core of this.
