Bonaventure is often called the seraphic doctor, and it comes from the serif. The serif is considered the highest order of angel in the Old Testament. Bonaventure too held the love of God above everything else. And so even though Bonaventure was a professor, was an academic, the way that he writes always prioritizes the pursuit of the love ofGod.
