The Fundamental Attribution Error
Every time a woman goes out at night and is murdered, the first question that is asked is, why was she out? What was she wearing? What did she do to incur this? And i would be lying if i said that we live in a society where it's not believed that bad women are the ones who get punished. This might also just be a deep and pretty awful part of our human nature. When we attribute other people's behaviour to things, we don't tend to thinking in terms of the circumstances.
