Type 2 Diabetes - Is Metformin the Right First Line Drug?

In 2002, the New England Journal published a study showing that people who took metformin developed 31% less diabetes than those who were treated with placebo. In my heart of hearts, I don't think it's undoing the process that's diabetes that's really responsible for the heart disease and the amputations. It's just artificially suppressing the blood sugar. This is now my opinion. Everything I've said so far as fact. This is my opinion. But in any event, 31% fewer people diagnosed with diabetes when they were treated with metformin compared to the people who were treating with placebo. Those people kept their benefits over 10 years. They kept their weight loss. They continue
