Don't Be a Pessimist, Invest Like an Optimist
Being an optimist doesn't mean having a pessimistic side of your personality. Bill Gates started Microsoft in the 1970s, 74, and he always wanted to have enough cash in the bank to keep the company running for 12 months with no revenue. I think being able to get those two to coexist is so important to sustaining over time. Charlie Munger has this great quote where he says, the first rule of compounding is to never interrupt it unnecessarily.
