The New Satrap of Babylon

Alexander appoints a persian nobleman to be the new governor of babylon. Mesaius was rewarded for his role in the battle of galgamela by being given herds of cattle and horses, as well as lions and leopards. Alexander also leaves apollodorus with two thousand troops and enough money to hire more soldiers if needed. One theory is that Alexander's sarcophagus may have belonged to mesaius.
