The Frustration of Supporting Trans People
In 1983, according to the British Social Attitude Survey, 50% of people thought same-sex relations were always wrong. By 1987, that had got significantly worse and only 10% said never wrong. The ally population in 1987 was 10% of gay people. And it only recovered to 1983 levels by 1993. So you could see, actually, if you were going to be depressed in the 80s, you'd just go, well, things are just getting worse and worse and worse. You know, history is not linear, unfortunately. I mean, all LGBTQ people will have to pick up the pieces of other LGBTQ people whose lives have been ruined by their parents.
