How to Use Your Name and the Word You to Give Advice
When you use your own name to try to work through a problem, it's putting you in this advice giving mode. You're now coaching your best friend and that makes it much easier for us to give ourselves sound advice. The second thing I'll do is something called mental time travel. I sometimes call this my 2am chatter strategy because like every four to six weeks, I will wake up at 2am and start having some chatter. That simple reframing can really give you a completely new perspective.
