Will walker's uncle was a black police officer in yonkers, New York. He saw the department had a diversity problem and decided to do something about it. The number of black officers hired in the 20 tens almost doubled compared to the previous decade. But even with all this work, getting the same percentage of black officers on the force as black people in the community seemed out of reach.
