There is only one photograph of Lewis in uniform as a young officer cadet. The pictures I'm most interested in are those of Lewis as a young man in the British army, because those pictures haven't been published much at all. As well as Lewis in uniform, there's his friend, Paddy Moore, in uniform. And they promised each other that if one of them was to be killed, that the surviving one would look after the dead man's family for many decades thereafter. Now this is an example of virtue, of promise keeping. No kidding.
