The Importance of Shebna in Isaiah
In chapter 22 of Isaiah, it talks about these two individuals. One is Shebna and one is Eliakim. Shebna's role is as the al-Haba'it, basically he's the prime minister of the kingdom. He accuses his own power to exalt himself by building a tomb in Iraq. And because of this, Lord God says, oh no, listen, you have misused your role. You've misused your authority. So I will thrust you out of your station and bring in Eliakim,. Now this is why Isaiah 22 is so incredibly important in Matthews gospel. What you open, no one shall shut. The gates of hell went up
