Inaland's hospital ship could take on about 15 hundred patients every mission. The third day in africa, i was told we would have this patient screening for sick people. I remember just weeping with some of the others,. realizing, oh my gosh, we're going to send 35 hundred sick people home with no help and no hope. That year that i had signed up for turned into two years. And what i learned was so many of the people were standing there, so many of them were sick because they were drinking dirty water.
