Nitric Oxide and Pulmonary Hypertension

The way nitric is currently recommended for use in palic is considered to be used as a bridge to or to prevent ECMO. It's an expensive therapy and its use is restricted sometimes institutionally, sometimes by resource limitation. But it will improve your oxygenation in that like in two thirds of patients have a positive oxygenation response. If you don't have arterial blood gas in patients with pulmonary hypertension or with some degree of RV dysfunction, you may reach for it sooner than as a bridge for ECMO.
