The Education Divide in Politics
Education tended to be education into a way of thinking, a way of being that was almost always narrow. And the idea that knowledge is something more than privilege, I think we need to recognize is a pretty recent idea. The vast expansion of the university sector has made graduates versus non-graduates one of the key dividing lines in our politics. But if you're over 65, the chance that you went to university are very, very slim.
