The Last a Hapsburg Monarch in Spain Died Out in 1797
The spanish hapsburgs took this to an extreme and in a bad direction. They didn't want to degrade their status by marrying into anyfer dynasties. Also, because they were fervently catholic and anti protestant, they sort of cut the entire protestant section of europe out of their pool of potential marriage partners. And they ended up becoming a severely inbred and even deformed ruling house, which eventually finally died out in the year 17 hundred.
