Culture war over whether America is a good place or a bad place, it's been around for years. One of the great modern fallacies is that we live after people, therefore we're better - but i wish there were a little bit more humility about that. Don't regard yourself as the judge, jury and executioner of every one in history. And try to try to look at the past, including your own past, with a kind of humility. You don't know how these things are going to end; you don't know if it's going to end. It's just flat out false round here: We need to feel like we've all fallen into our age."
