Dapto Mison Kills Bacteria

Dapto mison is an interesting drug in that it's actually a lypo peptide. It uses the fat soluble tail to insert itself into bacterial membranes and cell walls. Daptomise physically disrupts the integrity of these structures, particularly the membrane of the bacteria. This disruption allows for uncontrolled potassium eflux out of the cell. And this eflux of potassium leads the bacterium basically being unable to maintain a normal membrane potential,. which leads to failure of cellular machinery and then to sell death.
