Is There a Power of Influence?

I think this is one of the things I struggle with quite a lot because I do actually sometimes think about how can I gain influence. So actively reaching out has nothing to do with furthering my knowledge generation, you know, doing my research. It's actively reaching out, like, let's see if I can influence something there. Of course, yeah, you hope that you do it for the greater good or whatever it is. But this is really a thing I'm surprised by and also that I've accepted.
