The first lady was wildly charismatic she was a powerful force not in a domineering sort of way but that you couldn't help but notice her. She had great compassion seemed to really have strong sentiments for the have nots although it ended in the race line perhaps. As long as you were white and you met her you would have liked her because almost everyone did. It's hard to explain how someone who noticed everything and noticed everyone and went out of her way could be so totally blind to how cruel that part of her life was.
