The Topography of Rome
Rome is on the most important river in Pinnenslitt Italy which is the Tiber it's at the lowest crossing point. Rome has defendable hills as well those hills are some of them are isolated like the Capit line and the Palatine, others are spurs of higher ground like the Esqueline so the idea that the Romans had that there were seven hills of Rome is a little bit of a oversimplification. There's lots of defendable ground basically right next to this important artery going into central Italy the Tiber and there's very important roads as well.
