The Home and the Forerunner

Stephanie Coontz's husband was supportive of her writing. They moved to New York, where she does a lot of her writing for the next several years. She also establishes her own publication called the Forerunner. Each issue was 28 pages long and had 1500 subscribers. Do men support their wives in 1915? I would imagine that they did.
