Is Philosophy an Important Part of Education?

Philosophy is an important part of education. I think that thinking about philosophical questions can be a richly rewarding and valuable activity for people. So i suppose i'm not recoiling from the idea of department of philosoy. Maybe, just like an office that encourages philosophy, education is part of the department of education. To make good decisions, you have to draw on wide bodies of knowledge. Sometimes its economics, sometimes its sociology, sometimes it will be philosophy.
