Ancient Greece Declassified
Homer's Tale of Achilles and Priam
Fathers and sons are a major theme of the poem. Achilles realizes that his choice to avenge Patroclus means he will no longer be able to go back home to his father, who is aged but still alive. Priam says, think of your father who right now may be. Be set by enemies and you're not there to help him. There's a moment of reconciliation between mortal enemies.
