Attorney General Garland said states may not ban Mephe Perstone based on disagreement with the FDA's expert judgment about his safety and efficacy. The drug is used to perform medication abortions rather than having a surgical procedure. "What we see coming forward will be hashing out of these issues in our courts," Julian Zelizer says.
