The Effects of Altitude on Athletes
There's no point in getting altitude when you lose that altitude of effect, maybe three days later. Most athletes will do 21 to 30 day training camps at altitude. But where this gets interesting is that if you are a regular altitude visitor, you can get the same adaptation within a couple of weeks each time. So there was one study that was done in swimmers where each individual trip didn't elevate the hemoglobin but when you looked at three individual altitude camps of two weeks, they were 5% better at the end than at the start.
