The collapsing fertility rate is one of the biggest issues faced by rich nations. Governments don't know what to do about it because just about every intervention that has been tried hasn't worked. Hungary are proposing to abolish income tax for women who have the first baby before they're 30. And so they're hoping that this policy will kill two birds with one stone, more babies and then when the children are old enough, women can go back to work.
