The military conflict of the American Revolution was also waged on water. The U.S. relied on using continental naval vessels and privateers to disrupt Great Britain's war effort. disrupting trade not only made it harder for British forces to receive material that they needed to wage the war, but dampened their wartime attitudes as well.
