Wendlebery: What Does the Bible Offer?
i wonder how you think about what the biblical text offers in terms of nourishing hope and courage. It's interesting that none of the so called prophetic books of the bible, the books that actually have the names of prophets attached to them, like jeremiah, isaiah, amos, all those books bring us to despair. None of them ends without a picture of the people of god returning to healthy relationship with god. So wendlebery says, now, when hope sets out on its desperate search for reasons, it can find them. Cann't ther reason, you know, it's in the language of scripture, giving reason for the hope that is in us....
