The Art of Hercules

With Hercules, this is actually a part of the artist's wall where while the plaster was being applied to the wall, the painting was added in chunks at a time. So it would be like if you painted on your own bedroom wall and then somebody said I want to buy that - they took apart the wall and paid for new one. The dullness comes from the fact that the pigment or the paint is applied while the plaster is wet.
