The Role of Noise in Sleep
Anxiety and stress trigger cortisol, which will override the circadian rhythms. Depression on the other hand, when people don't have enough serotonin, they have difficulty making melatonin. Pain can also cause circadian rhythm disruption because it keeps you from getting sleep, but it also keeps your cortisol levels high. It is imperative to reduce noise when you're sleeping in order to get good quality sleep.
