On the face of it, the government has taken a load of political decisions which leave them exposed to very obvious attacks from the Labour Party. The ambition here is to get growth up to its trend before the French crisis of about 2.5% a year. And we haven't managed those kind of levels of growth consistently for well over a decade. So it seems to me that simply dropping taxes is certainly not going to achieve that. But it may be that the Chancellor has something to tell us this morning that makes economists sit up and feel, yes, we're going to get back to 2.5%. We're going to do it fairly quickly.
