Some 28 million africans were enslaved and sold between the fifteenth and nineteenth century. In some places, they rationalize not even taking investment money that would be used to make life a little easier on their slaves because since they were going to die anyway,. Just workem to death, and they did. But just because you have african labor in the america starting, doesn't mean native Americaan slavery died out. They may not work well in the mines or the agra business area, but there's plenty if you're a an enslaver. It's being used in place of slave owner, 'slaver', which is harsher than it should be.
