The Stress of Being an Eight-Year-Old

I grew up with two brothers and my dad was unfortunately an alcoholic. He also had a gambling addiction so we didn't grow up with a lot of money. My mum did her best to keep the family running but then when I was about eight my mum left because of domestic violence. Was it stressful as an eight-year-old to go through that? It was very stressful. But there are some things that you're not emotionally ready for and that happens to be one of them.
