Is There a Difference Between Can and Could in a Conditional Construction?

I think students often get moments like revelation on this because you very often I often find that most students find it easy to latch on to this idea. For a lot of students they don't think of the modal verbs as being present form and past form they just think of can and could. The students might not know necessarily what what time we're talking about and how it worked within a conditional construction. It's quite easy in your head to separate will and would so treat them as if they were two modal verbs instead of one does that make sense yes yes absolutely.
